About

We believe every individual deserves to feel safe, valued, and independent—and to have a place to truly call home. Despite this fundamental need, our target populations face significant challenges:

The availability of suitable housing for individuals with developmental disabilities and veterans falls short of the growing demand.

Many housing options are beyond the financial reach of those with limited means. The amount of public funds available to support special housing needs and living expenses is inadequate.

Existing housing often fails to accommodate the unique needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and veterans facing physical challenges. Additionally, such housing is rarely designed to support aging in place.

The absence of accessible transportation and organized activities exacerbates social and physical isolation among these populations.

The Reality

Consider these compelling statistics:

A Growing Need for Support

Over 7.37 million adults in the U.S. have intellectual or developmental disabilities. Nearly 900,000 of them reside with caregivers aged 60 or older.

Veterans Facing Financial Hardships

More than 152,000 wounded service members live in the United States. Approximately 10% of the households of these service members live in poverty, with 42% struggling to make ends meet at times over the past year.

Isolation and Employment Struggles

Social isolation is prevalent, with 39% of individuals on the autism spectrum losing contact with friends after high school, and 62% of wounded service members reporting feelings of loneliness. Employment challenges persist, as 55% of autistic individuals remain unemployed six years post-high school, and at least 13% of wounded service members are without employment.

Alarming Abuse and Mental Health Crisis

Almost 70% of autistic individuals and 63% of those with intellectual or developmental disabilities have experienced abuse. Additionally, 25% of wounded service members have had suicidal thoughts in the past year.
